
The Alexander After Prom Committee is selling flats of strawberries for $25. Each flat contains 8 - 1 qt. clamshells. Our annual Spartans in the Spotlight Variety Show is scheduled for March 15th. Registration forms were sent home in students' folders and are due this Thursday. Any child can participate whether it’s singing, dancing, joke telling, juggling, you name it! We hope your child signs up as everyone had a lot of fun last year. The PTO meeting for tonight unfortunately needs to be canceled due to issues with illness. There is a lot of sickness going through the district currently. This would be a great time to wash those hats, gloves, and jackets to try and get rid of these germs as fast as we can.

Alexander Local School District has posted openings for 2 administrative positions for the upcoming 2025-26 school year. We are looking for qualified applicants for Elementary School Principal and the Assistant Principal for Alexander JHHS. Alexander is a great place to grow, learn, and work! Spartan Nation - There is a canned food drive to benefit Goodworks being held in the lead up to tomorrow's Girls Basketball Contest versus The Athens Bulldogs. The winning school will be able to pie the losing teams AD 's face at the next contest January 30th in the Alley . Please support Goodworks and our AD, Mrs Lucas. We are low on donations, so if you are able, you can drop non perishable canned food items off at the HS office or the AD office during school tomorrow or bring items to the game.



The Knights of Columbus is holding a Free Throw Championship for boys and girls in the Athens High School Gymnasium on January 25th, 2025 from 10:30 AM to 2:00PM for students aged 9 - 14. Check out their poster here for all of the information: https://5il.co/33ag7


The Alexander Inclusive Playground Project is having a fundraiser hosted by Chipotle on Wednesday December 11th, 2024 from 4 to 8 PM. 25% of sales will be donated to the project. see this flyer for all of the details: https://5il.co/32twx


If you are looking for a good excuse to not make dinner and go out to eat head to Chipotle in Athens on Wednesday. Show them this photo and a portion of your bill will be donated to the playground committee to help build the other sections of the playground.


Two important updates for the Elementary:

2) The Stadium Blankets for our Playground Fund Raiser are in! Anyone that can stop by the movie night tomorrow, even if just to pick up your blankets, can get them between 5:30-7:30. If your students sold blankets we will hope to see you there!


Tomorrow is Christmas Movie Night in the Alexander Cafetorium! The Playground Committee is showing the film, “The Polar Express.” There will be face painting, holiday card decorating, crafts, and hot cocoa and popcorn. Admission cost is a donation to the inclusive playground campaign.


Alexander JH HS has an opening for High School Principal for the 2025-26 school year. Licensure for grades 06-12 is required. The deadline for application is December 9th, 2024. see here for submission guidelines: https://www.alexanderschools.org/page/employment

The playground committee says the arrival of the stadium blankets has been delayed to mid-December due to supply issues. They apologize for the inconvenience. They will notify us a few days before the arrival so we can let families know how to pick them up.
