We are proud to celebrate two incredible university students who are gaining valuable experience right here in our building!
The first is an Alexander graduate and current University of Rio Grande basketball player. Marlee Grinstead was recently named Player of the Year in her college conference and her team secured the conference championship as well!
The second has had an amazing swimming season with Ohio University winning the MAC Championship and earning a spot at the NCAA Tournament! Congratulations to Casadie Dibetta!
We are grateful to have such tremendous role models in our school community. Please help us congratulate these two outstanding student-athletes and future teachers!


The Rio Grande Womens Soccer team is sponsoring a one day youth soccer for girls in 3rd through 8th grade on April 26th. Registration is limited to 60 participants. The March Elementary PTO meeting has been rescheduled, and will now take place on Thursday March 12th at 3:15 in the library. We hope to see you there.

This is a reminder that tomorrow, February 27, 2026, will be a two-hour early dismissal for students.
This is the final week for preschool through 5th grade students to register for the annual variety show, Spartans in the Spotlight!
The performance will be held on Friday, March 27, with rehearsals taking place on Wednesday evenings throughout the month of March.

This is a reminder that school will be in session on Friday, February 13, and Monday, February 16. These days will serve as make-up days due to recent snow days.
Alexander Local Schools will be running on time tomorrow, Feburary 10th. The following buses are on Plan A: 3, 23, 24, 25, 33. In the Columbia township area will will not be running the following roads for Bus 9: Gaston, Chestnut Subdivision, LeMaster, and Dailey Road. Pickup and dropoff will be at the Living Water Church at 6:50 AM and 3:30 PM. We will not be running the following roads for Bus 23: Darst and Laurel. Pickup and dropoff will be at the Columbia Township Fire Department at 6:35 AM and 3:50 PM.

Alexander Locals Schools will be running on time for Monday, February 9th. We still have a few roads that are problematic so we are running "Plan A" for the following routes: 3,11,17,23,24,25,33,35. Additionally, we have three routes in the Carpenter area that have roads we are unable to run, they are Buses 9, 23 and 30. We are making changes to the bus plan for today, 2/6/2026. We have added addtional routes to plan A as follows: 5,11,13,15,17,28, and 35. Additionally Bus 25 will not be running some of the roads in the Hooper area and Bus 34 will not be running on Lightfritz Road. Due to the ongoing inclement weather, the first-grade field trips to the planetarium scheduled for this week have been postponed. The trip will now take place next week on Monday and Tuesday, February 2 and 3.

Tomorrow is Secret Santa day! There will be a variety of vendors in the elementary school gym selling gifts for under $10. Each grade will have the opportunity to shop for family and friends during their time slot. Forms were sent home today. Please fill those out and send them in tomorrow with cash if you’d like your child to participate!
