Good afternoon, Alexander families!
As you can tell from the photo, we are all very excited to see you tomorrow morning! Since the first day of school is always one of the busiest days of the year, please be patient with us as we kick off the new school year. Bus Riders: Please be ready at your bus stop 5-10 minutes earlier than your scheduled pick-up time. Car Riders: Please give yourselves extra time for drop-off and pick-up. Traffic will be very heavy, and student safety is our top priority. See you in the morning!

Alexander Local School District is transitioning to a new routing system for student transportation. - Transfinder - The system is sending out an email to students' parents with their proposed morning and afternoon routes tomorrow. The system is also sending out an email to parents that don't have school transportation set up with instructions to contact the school to set it up if you need to. If you do not receive an email by Thursday please contact your school office or the transportation office. You can update your email in Infinite Campus if needed.

Reminder! Although the preschool/kindergarten playground may look finished, it is not yet ready for use. The safety surfacing will be installed beginning later this week. For everyone’s safety, please stay off the front playground until we officially announce that it is open. The playgrounds behind the school remain open and available for use. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we complete this exciting project! We will share an update when the playground is complete and ready for use!

Alexander schools would like to invite our families to participate in the Annual Peanut Butter and Jelly Project presented by Athens County Children Services. Beginning June 4th and running through July 30th each Thursday from 10 am to 12 pm, families in need can come to the front elementary parking lot and be given a week’s supply of peanut butter and jelly with bread while supplies last. This is a free program to help families offset the increased food costs over the summer. If you have any questions, you can call our Outreach worker Kent Felts at 740-592-3061. Here is a link to their flyer: https://aptg.co/cT5-_P

Dear Families,
We are extending the deadline for Community Service Learning Project submissions to this Thursday. Please encourage your child to submit their project, even if they may not qualify for the Super Spartan Award.

Community service is an important way for students to learn the value of giving back, helping others, and making a positive impact in our school and community. We would love the opportunity to recognize and celebrate all of the wonderful efforts our students are making.

Thank you for supporting your child in these meaningful experiences!

Alexander Elementary holds an annual change drive each year to raise money for a local organization while allowing students to participate in some fun competitions along the way. This year’s recipient is the Waterloo Fire Department in New Marshfield.

Students are welcome to bring in spare change each day to add to their classroom jars and help support this great cause. Throughout the week, students will also have the chance to participate in exciting activities and competitions, including opportunities to pie teachers in the face and dunk various staff members in a dunk tank at the end of the week!

We are excited to come together as a school community to support our local fire department while having a lot of fun in the process!
