My name is Katie Thompson (formerly Hensley) and I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year! I am a 2011 graduate of Ohio University and have been teaching at Alexander since January of 2013. 
I am originally from Germantown, Ohio, which is just south of Dayton. I grew up spending lots of time outdoors, and still love spending time outside. I have one brother, Chris, who is currently a forest firefighter stationed in Northern California . My mom is a physical therapist assistant in Kettering, Ohio, and she and my stepdad own an antique shop in Waynesville. My dad works for a food distributor and spends his spare time gardening or doing photography. 
 

I got married to my husband, Brandon, this past July. He is a DJ in the Athens area and around the state. I spend some of my weekends traveling to his shows and helping out when I can. Brandon grew up in Athens and his parents and brother still live in the area as well.  Brandon and I just adopted a 6 month old puppy in early August and have fallen completely in love with our little Elle :)

Along with teaching, I am also passionate about health and wellness! Your child will be moving around quite a bit in my classroom, because I truly belive that a positive mindset about fitness starts when you're young!

I am excited to watch each child learn and grow this year and cannot wait to get to know the wonderful families they come from.
