Gifted Opportunities

SERVICE

State mandate requires identification of all gifted students.  There is no rule, however, regarding service of gifted students.  

Our gifted teacher currently teaches one advanced level 5th grade language class.     

                

ADDITIONAL ONGOING/ANNUAL OPPORTUNITIES

  

   MIDDLE SCHOOL/HIGH SCHOOL

·        W.I.S.E. Women in Science and Engineering Conference – This takes place in April at Ohio University. Mrs. Rhyan accompanies a group to this one day conference.

·        MARTIN ESSEX SCHOOL FOR THE GIFTED – Alexander is eligible each year to submit one application to this week long summer opportunity for extremely gifted and talented high school juniors.

·        SOUTHEASTERN OHIO REGIONAL SCHOLARS CONFERENCE-This conference is held in late April or early May.  Two Alexander High School juniors are selected to attend this leadership conference that is open to schools all over southeastern Ohio.
