End of the Year!

We are reaching the end of the year. It has been a great adventure teaching and learning with your children. I appreciate all the help and support you have given me this year, with parties and snacks, as well as helping in our room. As we look forward to summer, I wanted to add some pictures, so we can reflect about the fun we have had this year!

What We are Learning in

May and June!

Reading: predictions, middle and ending sounds, author’s purpose, counting phonemes, classifying, and making blends. We will also be incorporating Mothers Day activities as well as our bug unit in our reading.

Writing: we will be continuing our writing using describing words, writing 3sentences, answering “why” while writing, and using correct punctuation.

Math: We will be continuing our addition and also beginning subtraction, as well as working on critical thinking skills.

Science: we will be starting our spring unit on insects, which will include different kinds of insects such as ants, ladybugs, frogs and butterflies.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for all of your support and donations in making this a great and successful Kindergarten year!

I am extremely proud of the hard work and great progress that everyone of the children in my class made this year, and I am positive that they have the building blocks that will secure them a wonderful education and rewarding future.

WELCOME TO A BRAND NEW YEAR AT ALEXANDER ELEMENTARY

My name is Mrs. Meeks. This is my 2nd year teaching Kindergarten and I am excitied about getting to know all of my new students and their parents! I enjoy having parent volunteers in our room. You can come anytime you want, all I ask is that you stop by the office first and sign in. I will be communicating with parents frequently throughout the year and hope that you will also feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am looking forward to a great year!
