Summer Fun
Summer Fun for Special Kids is a three-week recreational summer day camp for
children with special needs. Any child living in Southeastern Ohio, age six
to fifteen, who has an IEP, can enroll. The camp will be held at Beacon
School in Athens and will run from July 28th through August 15th. Camp
activities will include swimming, crafts, music and other structured fun.
There will be a tuition fee, though assistance will be available for
qualifying families.
The camp is a partnership of Athens City Schools,
Athens County Board of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities,
The Athens-Meigs Educational Service Center, Havar, Inc. and Southeastern
Ohio Chapter-Autism Society of America.
