Kibble Foundation Scholarship: Applicants must from a Meigs County High School which includes Columbia Township in the Alexander Local District. Must attach a copy of your current federal income tax return. Deadline: May 15, 2012.

James and Martha Bratton Scholarship: Applicants must be members of any Christian Church of Athens County and must have a GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. Deadline: TBA.


The Foundation fpr Appalachian Ohio Scholarships: There are seven different scholarships under this organization that you may apply to receive awards. You may visit www.appalachianohio.org for more information. Deadline: Must be postmarked by TBA. 
 

Ohio Association of Career Colleges & Schools Legislative Scholarship Program: Must have a "C" or better, submit two letters of recommendation, written essay, and must be nominated by a current member of the Ohio Legislature. Roger Pedigo Scholarship: Established to benefit selected high school seniors from Athens, Hocking, Vinton, Fairfield and Franklin counties who are planning to attend Ohio University. Bill Gates Scholarship: This scholarship program is for low-income minority students. To apply, visit: www.gmsp.org Deadline: January 12, 2012.

Athens Soil & Water Conservation District Scholarship: Applicant should have a long-term career interest in agriculture and /or natural resources. Send all application materials to Teresa Caldwell at the Athens Soil & Water Conservation District, 69 S. Plains Rd., The Plains, OH   45780. Deadline: Close of business on the last Friday in March.

Engineers Foundation of Ohio College Scholarship: Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, meet the minimum SAT (Math=600, Reading or Composition=500) or ACT (Math=29, English=25) and be a citzen of the United States & a permanent resident of the state of Ohio. Additional criteria is specified for some scholarships. Deadline: Must be recieved by 5:00 P.M. on December 15, 2011.

United Producers Scholarship: Applicants must be a child or grandchild of a Preferred Member and enrolled in a college or technical school studying agriculture-related area. Completed applications and essays must be postmarked by April 1, 2012.

KFC Colonel's Scholars Program: Visit: www.kfcscholars.org Applicant must have a 2.75 or better GPA on a 4.0 scale, be pursuing a bachelor's degree at an in-state college or university and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Available from Dec. 1,2011 to Feb. 8, 2012.  

Hocking College District Scholars: For Hocking College only. Tuition assistance program for students graduating from an Athens, Fairfield, Hocking, Perry, Pickaway, or Ross County high school. Applications are in the career center or Hocking College.

American Legion Auxiliary Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students: Applicant must be a member of The American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary, or Sons of The American Legion: Applicant must be returning to the classroom after some period of time in which his/her formal education was interrupted. Harry B. Crewson Scholarship: Sponsored by Ohio University Credit Union. OU Credit Union members and their children are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Applicants should demonstrate excellence in community activities and/or special talent areas as academic achievement. Atomic Credit Union Scholarship: Applicant must be a member, or a child or grandchild of a member of Atomic Credit Union, of which said membership was opened prior to September 1, 2011. Hino Motors Scholarship: Applicants must be seeking at least an associates degree ina program related to manufacturing, transportation, or logistics/distribution systems (or closely-related field) at an accredited post-secondary institution located in the state of WV or within a75-mile radius of the Hino manufacturing plant in Williamstown, WV. Athens Amvets Scholarship-Howard Latz Memorial Scholarship: applications in career center. Can be attending any university, must be the son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter, or grandchild of a veteran. Deadline: TBA

James Kura Memorial Scholarship: Must have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale, write an essay and be accepted by an accredited 4 year school. Deadline: Postmarked by TBA. (Sponsored by The Ohio Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers).

Athens Amvets Post #76 James R. Hartley Memorial Scholarship: For students attending Hocking College only, must be the son, daughter, step-son, step-daughter or grandchild of a veteran. Deadline: The third Monday of June.

Jim Sheehan Memorial Scholarship: Must be a participating member of Christ of King Church of Athens, Ohio and have a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Deadline: Completed applications must be returned to Brent & Cindy Hayes c/o Bedrock Tool Rental by TBA.

Pythian Sister of Ohio Scholarship: This is a renewable scholarship with $250-$2,500 available. Deadline: TBA.

The OCTA Gillogly Scholarship: Applicants must be a descendant of an Albany High School alumnus or alumna and submit a completed application. Mail completed applications to Kay Cline, 3933 Factory Rd., Albany, OH 45710. Deadline: TBA.

Waterloo High School Alumni Scholarship:Applicant must be a descendant of a Waterloo Local School System alumni and must have a GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale. Deadline: TBA.

Ohio Newspapers Foundation 2011 Minority Scholarship: Applicant must be enrolled at an Ohio college or university, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale, be African American, Hispanic, Asian American or American Indian, complete an essay, and have two letters of recommendation from high school faculty members. Deadline: Postmarked by TBA.

John and Blanche Mussio Scholarship: For those attending the Franciscan University of Steubenville. Applications in the career center. Deadline: TBA.

Pleasant Valley Endowment Fund Scholarship: Resident of Meigs County, high school diploma or GED, sufficiently high GPA,class rank & ACT/SAT scores. Deadline: TBA.

Athens Area Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 100 DiDi Mau Scholarship: Applications in career center. For children of Vietnam Veterans, or close relatives of a Vietnam Veteran. For 2010, children of those who actively served in Afghanistan or Iraq are included. Deadline: TBA. 

Alexander's Future Foundation Scholarships: Applicant must complete all parts of the application, include an 300-500 word essay, attach a letter of recommendation, attach a copy of post-secondary acceptance letter, and must attend an interview. (Interview times will be announced and posted in the career center at the high school after the application deadline). Students interested in playing Division I, Division II or NAIA college athletics need to register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at the beginning of the Junior year. You must register online at www.eligibilitycenter.org . You also need to request a final transcript be sent to the college of your choice & NCAA or NAIA (which ever applies) at the end of your senior year.
