School Closing Delay Calling

Alexander Local Schools uses an automated calling system to alert parents when school is delayed or closed. In order to receive this service, parents must sign up.

We are giving you the option to receive a phone call notifying you when school is cancelled or delayed.  If the decision to close or delay school is made after 10:00 p.m. or before 6:00 a.m., you would receive the call at approximately 6:00 a.m.  If the decision to close or delay school is made before 10:00 p.m. or after 6:00 a.m., you would receive the call as soon as the decision is made.

You may also be notified of upcoming events through this automated process; however, these calls are made through the regular student directory and do not require you to sign up.

* Please note that this system relies heavily on electronics and the cause of school closure may not allow the system to work (example: power outage).

What you need to know about receiving calls sent through our automated calling system: 

·            Caller ID will display the school’s main number when general announcement is delivered.

·            We will leave a message on any answering machine or voicemail.

·            If you have more than one student with the same phone number, you only need to complete one form
